Message from John Mirotsos, Head of Partnerships, Zurich Group Insurance
Zurich updatesArticle24 June 2026
In this edition, we’re pleased to share Zurich’s global research report The Value of Mental Health, the first in Zurich’s The Value of Health & Wellbeing research series. The report highlights the growing and often unseen impact of mental health in Australia and globally, and the need for earlier, more coordinated support to improve wellbeing, strengthen workforce participation and support better long-term outcomes.
We profile Joula Howard, registered psychologist and Claims Rehabilitation & Wellness Manager at Zurich, who shares how our proactive, evidence-based approach is helping improve outcomes. By engaging early and working closely with employers, Joula explains how Zurich helps people stay connected to work where appropriate, reduce claim complexity and support more sustainable recovery.
From a digital perspective, we highlight upcoming enhancements, including a new Operations Dashboard designed to give our superfunds greater visibility across member behaviour, claims trends and engagement. These enhancements will support more informed conversations and better decision-making at both portfolio and employer level.
We also continue to demonstrate our commitment to community impact through the Z Zurich Foundation, launching a new mental health series, Beyond the Bubble, hosted by Nathan Buckley. Through our Tackle Your Feelings partnership, we celebrate Cameron Price, recipient of the 2025 Tackle Your Feelings Community Champion Award.
Finally, as part of our ongoing industry engagement, we were proud to sponsor the FEAL Directors Dinner, bringing together senior leaders across the superannuation sector and reinforcing our commitment to partnership and collaboration.
Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership. We look forward to staying connected and seeing you at upcoming events.
