Welcome to the 2025 Edition of Group Insurance Insights
Zurich updatesArticle15 May 2025
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2025 edition of Group Insurance Insights! I am thrilled to share with you the latest updates and insights from our local Zurich team.
It was wonderful to connect with many of you at the recent ASFA Spotlight on Insurance event in Sydney back in March. Our own Adam Siddique, Head of Public and External Affairs, chaired a fascinating discussion with George Megalogenis, Australian journalist, political commentator, and author. They discussed the impact of the current political environment and the forthcoming election on insurance and super. A big thank you to ASFA and the wider industry for providing an event packed with thoughtful and actionable insights. We're excited to continue working together to provide better solutions for our members.
Matt Howell and Zurich's Digital Proposition
We are excited to feature an article about Matt Howell, our new Head of Member Engagement and Digital. In alignment with our ambition of becoming Australia's number one digital insurer, Matt will delve into our ambitious digital proposition. His insights will showcase how we are leveraging cutting-edge technology to revolutionize member engagement and deliver exceptional service. This digital journey is more than just an enhancement; it is a transformational leap towards a future where seamless digital experiences are at the heart of our service.
Research and Roundtables - Mental Health Commitments
Zurich Australia is dedicated to boosting mental health support with new research and training initiatives. Guided by insights from our Mental Health Roundtable, these efforts aim to enhance underwriting, claims, and prevention services, ultimately providing better care for our customers. We are excited to share the latest developments and findings from our research and roundtables.
Mandala Report: Climate Change and School Results
Extreme heat is set to reduce the academic attainment of Australian students by up to seven percent, which could translate to $73,000 in lost earnings during their lifetime, according to a landmark new report. The Zurich-Mandala Climate Risk Index has analysed the risk of climate change to nearly 10,000 primary and secondary schools across Australia and the need for resilience-building measures to mitigate these impacts, especially in disadvantaged schools.
Together, let’s continue to drive positive change and innovation in our industry.
Thank you for your strong partnership. If you have any questions about this content, or anything further, feel free to reach out to myself or a member of the partnership team.
Warm regards,
John Mirotsos Head of Partnerships, Group Insurance
