Group Insurance Insights – Autumn edition

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Autumn edition of Group Insurance Insights and I am excited to share with you the latest updates and insights from our team and from around our global business.

As we move into the 2^nd quarter of 2023, we are grateful for your continued partnership and support. It was wonderful to connect with many of you at several industry conferences held over the last few months – including the ASFA Conference and the AIST Conference of Major Super Funds. Like many of you, I was left inspired by the passion and commitment we all share for our members interests, health, and retirement lifestyle. The opportunity to hear from and speak with so many of our industry leaders and stakeholders has energised the whole Zurich team to deliver above and beyond on our commitments in 2023. 

Importantly, we also had the opportunity at the recent Financial Newswire Life Insurance Outlook Conference where our Head of Group Insurance, Darren Wickham joined Russell Mason, Superannuation Lead, Deloitte and Ben Facer, Chief Strategy Officer, NGS Super, who discussed the importance of advice and education for members and the value of group insurance. I am a strong advocate for ensuring a gender-equal opportunity within the financial services industry, so it was an honour to have the opportunity to participate in celebrating and raising awareness against bias during the International Women’s Day events. Zurich has a longstanding commitment to progressing gender equality in our workplace, both across the industry and in our communities and one of our executive leaders Sally Phillips, gave us an opportunity to sit down with her  and discuss a career in health within the insurance industry. We were also proud to support the LGBTQ+ community by taking part in World Pride 2023. It was a great opportunity for us to celebrate the progress that has been made for LGBTQ+ inclusion with many of our colleagues and family members taking part in this historic event.
