Welcome to the Winter edition of Insurance Insights

Welcome to the Winter edition of Insurance Insights. We have had such an exciting first half of the year at Zurich, and it has been such a pleasure to reconnect, in-person with so many of you. The renewed sense of collaboration, goodwill and togetherness of us all working closer towards our collective goals has invigorated the Zurich team to ensure 2022 finishes as strong as it started.

I am delighted to let you know that Mercy Super has appointed Zurich as its new insurance partner, effective from the 1st August 2022. To be given the opportunity to provide Mercy Super members with peace of mind via great value insurance is exciting.  We are passionate about engaging with members to improve their understanding around cover, and look forward to working closely with Mercy Super.

I had the chance to travel the eastern seaboard earlier this year, to showcase Zurich’s exciting new products, services, and innovations with the Zurich team. One of those initiatives was our new corporate offering, Zurich Corporate Care, which went live to market on the 1st April. If you haven’t seen yet, please watch our short explainer video here or reach out to your partnership manager for more information.

We were able to learn, collaborate and participate at both the ASFA National Conference and Spotlight on Insurance events recently. I hope you enjoyed the sessions as much as I did! You may have managed to hear from our own Darren Wickham, who discussed impact of the pandemic on the industry and how reforms within superannuation have affected the insurance landscape, and Wendy Liu, Zurich Integrated Benefits Solutions Global CEO who provided great insights into how mental health claims is a growing issue worldwide and provided insights into the role that rehabilitation, early notification and intervention are shaping the future of group insurance and employee benefits. If you would like to know more on these topics, then please let us know.

We also planted 300 trees at Widgewah Conservation Sanctuary in partnership with Reforest and ASFA, so thank you for taking the time to talk with us about an important cause. For further details on this cause, please click here.

In this edition, we will also be sharing an article to a Zurich roundtable, hosted by Insurance Magazine and Connexus, which industry experts unpack the growing issue of superannuation fund mergers and the ongoing impact on insurance. It’s a great read, so please click here.

Finally, I would like to say thank you to those who have supported us through our journey of moving from OnePath to Zurich thus far. We have completed many operational milestones recently, and we are close completing the transition, which we hope to have done by August this year. We will continue to keep you informed of major updates and impacts; however, we hope you are enjoying the additional benefits, insights and community initiatives Zurich have been able to provide as one of the largest insurers in the world.

Reach out any time to myself or the partnership team should you have any questions.

Kind regards,

John Mirotsos
